Is it extreme to be a vegan? (Update)

The answer is no.. It's actually pretty normal!

So here comes the time of year where I seem to blog the most again.. Christmas! I'm back again with an update in my life and just to try and be a better blogger in general.

I left you last time with the question 'should I go vegan?'. So since then I decided to sit down and watch a documentary named Vegucated. I was so shocked about what I saw and how I was so oblivious to it all, that I turned fully vegan the next day! (It's on Netflix and I recommend it to anyone who's curious about taking on a plant based diet or curious in general).

I'm not here to preach, I'm just here to tell you how normal it is to eat a plant based diet! I've actually enjoyed food so much more since I decided to make the change and I was shocked to feel so much healthier both physically and mentally!

I seem to get two reactions when I have to explain to people my new life choice. The first is the people who think that there is nothing worse than veganism in the world. I get the usual eye roll and cheeky comment followed by 'don't you miss bacon?'. I can't judge these people because just over a year ago I was exactly the same. The other is from people who don't really know too much about it but are generally curious and interested in taking on a healthier lifestyle. I love speaking to people who are open minded on the subject, especially as it's a decision which is very good for me and makes me a lot happier.

Also the cake and brownies can be just as good..

I'm extremely excited for the upcoming months and I should hopefully be making a lot of new Christmas themed blog posts!

But should I become vegan?

So I've been thinking for a while..

Ive been asking myself this question for a long time now, should I become vegan? Ive been a vegetarian for just under 6 months, but it's not really a challenge for me, just a preference.

I've always been somebody who is health conscious and I've never been a huge meat lover. I first became vegetarian when I was 13 and stayed that way for 4 more years. My only reason to stop was because of peer pressure and the fact I was always the awkward person when I was round a friends for dinner and the parents had to cater for me. Now I'm 20 and that's no longer the case, I thought it was time to go back to my old ways.

I love being creative with food and stalking some vegan youtubers has made me so inspired. I obviously am also an animal lover but can't put myself through some of the documentaries which are meant to turn you vegan.

Maybe I should become vegan for a month and test the waters? Or maybe I will write about my journey on this blog?

Blogmas Day 8 | Lush Bath Bomb Review

Be the guardian of a galaxy as it explodes in your bath..

So today I was feeling a bit under the weather, so I thought it was perfect timing to have a hot bath and a colourful bath bomb. The bomb I decided to use is called intergalactic. It is described as an awesome mix that will have you hooked on a feeling.

Firstly it smells gorgous, but as soon as this bomb touched the water it made such a colourful bath. When the bright bomb had finally settled down, the colour was like pure, blue carribean water with gold shimmers in.

It made for a very relaxing, well needed experience. I'm definetly going to buy some of the Christmas bombs to try too and may even review some.

Blogmas day 7 | Glamglow Supermud Mask Review!!

What even is this stuff?!

So I treated myself to the look fantastic advent calender this year as a sneaky, early Christmas present. I will do a full post on it a bit later but I just had to talk about this product.

I had seen rave reviews on Glamglow but couldn't push myself to splurge when it's so much money and it may not even work on my skin. So I was overjoyed when I recieved this in my advent calender and gave it a try straight away.

I suffer with visable pores all around my t-zone and I honestly can't believe how different they looked after I used this mask! I totally get the hype and I may even invest in a full sized version of this mask. If you also suffer from pores I highly recommend this.

Blogmas Day 6 | Winter Haircare Favourites!!

Giving my hair a present of its own!

For some reason I tend to take more time on haircare in the winter months. I've finally got a solid few products I use each time I wash my hair and I truly believe they are miracle workers.

Kerastase Oléo-Relax
This stuff is absolutely insane. I have naturally brittle looking hair and this product makes my hair shine like a summers day. I can't rave enough about how silky soft this makes my hair feel! I use two pumps on damp hair and one pump to add shine on dry hair and it's also the biggest frizz killer!

Kerastase Ciment Thermique
This is my most recent purchase and I'm still testing it. I have heard rave reviews about this product working miracles. I think it smells gorgous and I'm hoping it helps my hair. It is meant to strengthen, prevent breakage and also works as a heat protectant.

Catwalk Curls Rock Amplifier
Of course I need to include a product for when I want to wear my hair naturally curly and this is my choice. This increases the curls in my hair and when diffused works perfectly to give me a nicely defined curl! I use this with the got2b all star 10-in-1 styling treatment to give my hair that extra hold!

Blogmas Day 5 | Bedroom decorations!!

Another exciting Christmas themed day for me..

I love making my bedroom extra Christmasy and today that is exactly what I did. From my mini tree, to my Christmas foxes everything was super festive. I decided to go for a blue theme this year as it goes with the colour of my room.

I still want to add more decorations as I'm lacking because it's the first year I've been in this room! I've got a few good old classics like the Santa that hangs on my door handle though. I may do an updated post if I end up getting more.

Blogmas day 4 | Christmas traditions

There's something I've noticed about this time of year..

For day 4 of Blogmas I thought I would explain 10 things that happen every year in my house at Christmas!

1. Christmas movies. Christmas music. Christmas everything.

2. Everybody wears their most hideous Christmas jumpers and silly hats all around.

3. Playing board games until somebody cheats and it starts getting fiercely competitive!

4. Stuffing my face with every food possible.

5. Getting a nervous smile twitch while opening presents (it happens every year!)

6. I try Christmas pudding AGAIN and still end up disliking it.

7. I start getting excited with glitter.

8. I make a comment about how fast the year has gone.

9. The online sales excite me so much I end up buying things for myself. (I really need to stop doing this!)

10. Family getting together and making memories.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I'm curious to see whether any of these things happen in your homes!
